This workshop is designed for Year 12 English teachers who will be teaching False Claims of Colonial Thieves in 2022. The workshop will begin by looking at the range of essay topics students will need to be able answer about this poetry collection, before looking closely at 10-15 poems teachers can study intensively with students. The workshop will look at ideas and poetic techniques within the poems and how the perspectives of Kinsella and Charmaine Papertalk Green are similar and different. Importantly, the workshop will focus on how to teach students to write about the poems and effectively respond to essay topics.
