At the start of Term 4, Ticking Mind will be publishing a revised edition of The Student Guide To Writing Better Sentences 2. This new edition has been developed to help schools better develop craft of writing skills at Year Levels 9-10 in line with the new VCE English Study Design. In particular, this updated edition of The Student Guide 2:

• Removes the chapter on compare and contrast writing (this will now be available for free as a digital download from our website)
• Adds a new chapter on ‘Non Fiction Texts’ that includes how to write: explainers, personal text responses, feature articles and reflective pieces

This workshop will introduce the new version of The Student Guide 2 and show teachers how to use it as part of explicit writing instruction in the English classroom to develop the writing skills of their students.
