This workshop is designed for Year 12 teachers who will be teaching the play Oedipus The King in 2024. The session will begin by looking at essay tasks which can be set for this text. The bulk of the workshop will then look at how to teach setting, character, imagery and dramatic techniques within the play. Teachers will be provided with strategies for guiding students to discuss and think about the messages in the text as well as how to scaffold students to practise analytic writing about the text.
