This workshop is designed to help teachers deliver a unit on country for the creating texts area of study in Unit 3, VCE English. In particular, this workshop will provide teachers with strategies and resources for:
- Unpacking the big idea of country
- Helping students generate ideas for how to creatively respond to the idea of country
- Practising different types of creative writing on country
- Teaching the four listed mentor texts for country
- Providing supplementary mentor texts on country that model different text forms and aspects of the idea
- Creating SAC stimulus tasks on country and teaching students to respond creatively to stimulus tasks
